    Mark Ireland, LCPC

    Mark brings over a decade of experience as a therapist to PHS. Throughout his career has worked in a variety of settings and as a result, brings a wide range of experience. Mark has consistently sought advanced training and supervision which has sharpened his naturally gifted therapy skills. With a strengths-focused approach, Mark provides a therapy experience rooted in the client being the expert and author of their lives.

    Mark’s approach to therapy is person-centered and focused on providing unconditional positive regard. His goal is to help people gain insights and come to realizations on their thoughts. He and his clients work together to identify real changes that are needed and together they activate plans to reach those goals. Mark keeps therapy practical by helping clients identify small changes they can make today. These small changes become big changes as new habits are created and maintained long-term.

    Mark specializes in providing research-based treatments such a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for adults and teens dealing with depression. He has specialized training to assist people with combined mental health and substance use struggles. Additionally, Mark has experience in grief recovery counseling and is a trauma-informed therapist.

    Mark enjoys helping couples develop healthier relationship patterns. He helps couples learn to communicate more effectively and move beyond conflict and tension that steals the joy from the relationship.

    Mark became a therapist because he loves helping people. He wanted to be a part of improving the mental health of the Holton community. It is a part of his faith and values to want to help society.
